Q: Do you have a minimum collection quantity?

A: No, for us, no job is too large or too small.

Q: Is there a time limit on when the sacks have to be collected?

A: No, there is no time limit on when collection has to be made.

Q: What weight do your shred sacks hold?

A: Our shred sacks hold a maximum of 15kg.

Q: Do I need to remove staples, etc?

A: No, all you have to do is put the documents in the locked containers provided. Paper clips, plastic wallets, lever arch files, staples or binder clips – the machines we use can handle that.

Q: What size are your Shred Sacks?

A: Our shred sack dimensions are 60cm x 100cm.

Q: Do you offer services for residential or just office documents?

A: We offer services for residential customers and businesses. We can also offer a drop-off service at our depots, please contact us for more information.

Q: What is your destruction process?

A: Our shredding process involves us air blending your shredded confidential waste paper with other papers through a chopper fan to a specific blend, that is then baled into tightly packed bales, each approximately weighing 1 tonne, using pressures in excess of 100 tonnes.

Q: Once I have received the sacks and filled them, how long do I wait for a collection?

A: We always aim to collect your sacks within 3 working days.

Q: What happens to my paper once it has been securely destroyed?

A: Your paper is recycled into branded paper or washroom hand towels.

Q: What time will my collection be?

A: Collection will be made between 9am - 5pm on the agreed date.

Q: Are your services environmentally friendly?

A: Yes. We are committed to reducing any negative impact we have on the local and global environment. For example, all the paper we collect is recycled.  We are  ISO 14001:2015 accredited. (This standard defines best practice for  Environmental Management Systems.)

Q: My documents are highly confidential. Are your services secure?

A: Yes. We make sure your documents are secure when they are in transit, and when they at our shredding centres waiting to be destroyed.

Q: How do I know your shredding services are good quality?

A: Because all our work is carried out in accordance with BS EN15713, the standard which gives businesses a framework to manage and control the destruction of any confidential material destruction they hold, ensuring that it is disposed of securely and safely.

Q: Can you securely destroy hard drives?

A: Yes, we can, plus other digital media including USBs, CDs and DVDs.  All the waste is disposed of in accordance with the WEEE regulations.

Q: Why do I need to securely destroy hard drives?

A: Information can be recovered from hard drives that have had files erased or the disk reformatted. This means there is a risk that your company accidentally allows confidential information to fall into the wrong hands.

A: Yes we are.  The Shredding Company is a subsidiary of The Hill Company, a well established, financially strong UK company.
